APPLICATION:  ROCKET PROPELLANT
 
  A nationally recognized leader in the manufacture of solid rocket propellant uses air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps to transfer a particularly aggressive fluid to a unique piece of equipment that requires a constant and steady flow.  
     
  PROBLEM:  
  The reciprocating action of the pump causes excessive pulsation in the discharge piping. Constant pulsation causes erratic flow which prevents the pumps from performing as required.  
     
  SOLUTION:  
  A BLACOH SENTRY pulsation dampener was installed on the discharge of each of the AODD pumps.  
     
  RESULT:  
  The installation of a BLACOH SENTRY Pulsation Dampener on the discharge of each pump allowed the fluid to flow smoothly and with little to no fluctuation. This greatly improved the flow at 120 GPM through the piping into the 500 gallon supply tank.
