PULSATION DAMPENERS FOR AODD PUMPS
An Air Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pump is a type of positive displacement pump. You can think of positive displacement pumps like mechanical hearts, which squeeze and relax to move blood throughout your body. Likewise, positive displacement pumps create flow by pumping fluid in a rhythmic pattern. This creates the distinctive pulsing action in your process fluid.
This pulsating action can cause:
- Excessive noise and pipe vibration
- Damage to pump system equipment
- Reduced accuracy of meters and gauges
- Shortened component life
- Premature pump failure and inefficiency
The Blacoh AODDampener™ is engineered specifically for use with AODD pumps. Pre-sized for pumps up to 3 inches, the AODDampener features a flexible PTFE diaphragm that, when properly charged, absorbs the pulsations and helps to create a smoother laminar flow.
