A dampener is a pressure vessel and must be compatible with the pump on which it will be used, as to:

1. operating pressure;
2. temperature;
3. size;
4. bladder material;
5. wetted or non-wetted housing;
6. characteristics and composition of the substance(s) to be pumped; and
7. other factors specific to the dampener application.

The ordering process of Blacoh Fluid Controls, Inc. (“BLACOH”) only provides for selection based on size, bladder material, and wetted or non-wetted housing. In providing the user with information (a) concerning the appropriate dampener size for a particular manufacturer’s pump by model number or (b) about a BLACOH product which is generally used in applications similar to those of a competitor’s product for which the user has provided the make and model number, BLACOH is providing information which BLACOH believes to be accurate, however BLACOH does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. The user of this website is responsible for verifying all information concerning the dampener being ordered and the pump on which the dampener is to be used.

Although BLACOH provides certain generic information concerning operating pressures in ambient temperatures (i.e. 72ºF or 22ºC) and certain generic information concerning chemical compatibility, the user is solely responsible for determining whether this generic information is correct and applicable for the customer’s intended use of a dampener.

In addition, the user must understand and make correct decisions concerning the appropriateness of a particular dampener for a pumping process based on the characteristics and composition of the substance(s) to be pumped and other factors specific to the dampener application.

USE OF AN INCOMPATIBLE OR UNSUITABLE DAMPENER ON A PUMP MAY BE DANGEROUS TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY. BY WAY OF EXAMPLE BUT NOT LIMITATION, USE OF AN INCOMPATIBLE OR UNSUITABLE DAMPENER MAY RESULT IN EXPLOSIONS, LEAKAGE OF LIQUIDS OR GASES (WHICH MAY BE HAZARDOUS), OR MALFUNCTIONING EQUIPMENT.

THE USER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR (AND BLACOH IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR) VERIFYING THE COMPATIBILITY AND SUITABILITY OF A PARTICULAR DAMPENER FOR A PARTICULAR PUMP AND APPLICATION, AS WELL AS DETERMINING WHETHER TESTING OF A DAMPENER IS ADVISABLE PRIOR TO USE IN A PARTICULAR APPLICATION.

The only warranty given by BLACOH with respect to its products is set forth on BLACOH’S website (www.blacoh.com) or is available directly from BLACOH.
