SPILLSTOP™ Configurable Spill Prevention
Spill prevention for critical applications.

Along with automatic pump shutdown and spill containment, the fully pneumatic SPILLSTOP gives you the flexibility to do more: connect backup pumps for immediate switchover, trigger alarms and whistles for instant on-site alerts, or seamlessly integrate with your facility’s SCADA/PLC panel.

How Does SPILLSTOP™ Work?

  1. Install SPILLSTOP by connecting it to your AODD pump’s exhaust port.
  2. Connect SPILLSTOP to your shop air supply using the provided 50 PSIG regulator.
  3. When a diaphragm begins to leak, fluid will disperse through the pump’s exhaust and begin to collect within the SPILLSTOP.
  4. SPILLSTOP’s float will begin to rise. When it rises high enough, it will trigger the shutoff valve and cut the air supply to the pump.
  5. No longer receiving compressed air, the pump will automatically shut off.
  6. If your SPILLSTOP is equipped with an optional warning light or alarm whistle, it will begin alerting.
  7. If your SPILLSTOP setup includes back up pumps or other accessory features, those will begin.
  8. Fluid is no longer being pumped through the handicapped pump, the spill is contained within SPILLSTOP, and the leaking diaphragm can be addressed without losing product.

The Importance of Spill Prevention

As anyone familiar with the function of an AODD pump can attest, pump diaphragms will fail. When they do, process fluid is expelled through the pump’s air exhaust port, spilling into the environment. Spills can result in significant expense due to lost product, material cleanup, EPA reporting, and system downtime. More importantly, spills resulting from pump diaphragm failure put personnel at risk of serious injury.

The SPILLSTOP can be equipped with an optional warning alarm whistle, pneumatic-to-electric switch to power warning lights or connect to a SCADA panel, and additional pump shutoff valves for multiple pumps, high suction tank applications, and/or backup pump startup.
