Pulsation occurs in all positive displacement pump systems, the magnitude of which is determined by changes in fluid velocity (pump speed), type of pump, and pipe diameter. Transient events can happen during pump start-up or shut-down and rapid opening/closing of valves; often referred to as “surge” or “water hammer.” Water hammer and Pulsation can cause catastrophic system damage such as pump and valve deterioration, pipeline failure, and loss of system control—all of which cost time and money to repair.
SurgeShield Vessels are an essential component in your pump system. Their primary function is to absorb or release the energy that results from these events, offering long-term protection that can save significant repair and replacement costs.
- Chargeable air control, set the charge to the desired pressure and remove the compressed gas.
- Anti-extrusion button prevents bladder from being forced out due to increased pressure.
- Lifting lugs for simpler maneuvering.
