Pulsation occurs in all positive displacement pump systems, the magnitude of which is determined by changes in fluid velocity (pump speed), type of pump, and pipe diameter. Transient events can happen during pump start-up or shut-down and rapid opening/closing of valves; often referred to as “surge” or “water hammer.” Water hammer and pulsation can cause catastrophic system damage such as pump and valve deterioration, pipeline failure, and loss of system control—all of which cost time and money to repair.
SurgeShield Vessels are an essential component in your pump system. Their primary function is to absorb or release the energy that results from these events, offering long-term protection that can save significant repair and replacement costs.
- Bladder-style hydropneumatic vessels
- Chargeable air control: set charge to desired pressure and remove air line. No need for constant pressurized air source.
- Anti-extrusion button replaces inlet screen to prevent bladder protrusion without clogs or flow restriction.
